Competitive sports during Wednesday’s recreation time were canceled due to rainy weather.

This comes after Tuesday’s outdoor sports were also canceled because of the weather and only scrimmages were held for basketball.

Many participants were visibly frustrated with the uncontrollable weather, like Mitchell Davis, a citizen of the City of Schmedeman in Mitchell County.

“The cancellation of the competitive part of the sports was disappointing, but hopefully the weather clears up later this week and we can get back to it,” Davis said.

While the Willmore Center was still open on Wednesday for sports like basketball and dodgeball, the games played did not count toward the overall athletic competition.

The weather looks to clear up later this week, with sun in the forecast for the next few days. With any luck, the competitive sports will resume once again, as many citizens are itching to get back out there.
