Many cities in Badger Boys State were hit with disasters just days after finalizing their budgets.
As many cities begrudgingly took money out of the emergency funds and hoped nothing else catastrophic happens, one city is fighting for funds back.
The City of Washburn in Durkee County was hit with a wildfire. The fire destroyed their meeting room, but luckily their budget was balanced enough to pay for the restoration of the beloved meeting room.
But, during an investigation into the source of the fire, it was discovered that the fire was caused by a delivery company called Sodexo.
“A Sodexo Lobster truck crashed into a field and started a fire,” an anonymous source said. “That fire spread to [the City of] Washburn.”
The source also said they talked to disgruntled Sodexo employees who also wish to remain unnamed. They told me Sodexo was making their drivers drive longer and longer without breaks.
They said that they knew the driver of the truck, and that he had been driving for fourteen hours with no breaks. Washburn is having a court session at 2:30 on Wednesday June 11. I will be with this story as it continues.
